A Long Day of Yard Work...

As you can see from the before pictures of my flower beds, I was long overdue for some heavy yard work. It needed to be done, and we have company coming in- it needed to look nice.

Our weed eater also inconvenienced us by breaking, so I had to pull all of these the old fashioned way.

I also trimmed the big bush by the fence just a little.

Here's a far away shot of the after.

I cleaned all of the weeds out of the flower bed.

Trimmed the bushes

And Pulled all of the weeds in front of the wood perimeter.

When I finished picking up all of the trimmings and weeds, I had three trash bags full. I am tired but extremely proud of my hard work.

A Brother to the Rescue...

We called Thomas' brother Nathan to ask him for some help with the yard this weekend. He mowed the front and back yards as well as helped us to trim the tree out front. We really appreciated the help.

Tree trimming time!

Working Hard!
The yard looked so nice, and you can actually walk up the driveway without getting a tree branch in the face! Thank you Nathan for the help.

A Day of Cleaning...

Yesterday I spent hours cleaning out cabinets and closets. It's amazing how much a person can accumulate over time. There were a lot of items to throw away, or donate to the Goodwill. I still have a little more to do, and then the house cleaning begins. Our friend Israel is coming into town late Friday night and staying with us for a week. We have lot's of activities planned! Should be fun.

Master's Degree...

I see this picture as a vision of my future. I found out last night that in just 6 possibly 7 more classes that I can earn a Master's of Early Childhood Education. I had no idea how close I had come. I remember last week when I was buying my textbook for class, there was a long line of people trying on robes and sashes for graduation. It gave me chills. Last night a dream of mine has been brought into the very near future. I am so excited about the prospect of gaining a Master's degree. I hope that I can make my family proud of me.

Bike Riding With Thomas...

Thomas and I have been riding bikes together this week for exercise. It has been really nice to hang out with him and feel supported by my husband. This is the first time he has really been there with me as I try to get healthy and lose some weight. I am really enjoying this activity, and hope that it continues.

Saying Goodbye....

Though this is not an actual picture of my car, I am a little sad that we have decided to sell my Oldsmobile. Though I am excited about the prospect of a newer car, I will miss the first car that I ever owned. I bought this car when I was in college after saving my own money. I remember commuting back and forth to school in it while listening to the radio. It has been a blessing, and even though it sounds a little cheesy, I will miss it a lot!

My Four Year Anniversary...

Today is my wedding anniversary. The last four years have brought about a lot of changes and growing. God has blessed us many times over. Two and a half years ago we bought our first home, which is something to be very proud of. Thomas has supported me through my teacher certification process, even though it has taken a long time. I am so glad that God brought us together. I couldn't have asked for a better husband.

Happy Anniversary to my husband and friend. I love you and am looking forward to many more years together.

They Sleep the Same...

I couldn't resist snapping these pics of Daisy and Gabby. I came in and found them like this the other afternoon. I thought it was so funny that they would both be sleeping this way at the same time!

Karson and his boots...

I took this video of Karson wearing Kaden's boots. He picked them up and handed them to me after no success trying to put them on. I put them on and he was so excited.

Mr. Happy...

Who knew that a fifty cent toy could bring kiddos so much enjoyment? Well I found that out while visiting Amy and the boys. The first afternoon of our visit we ate lunch at Ci Ci's Pizza. Anyone who has ever eaten there knows that they have toys for sale in the machines by the restrooms. Amy and I each gave Kaden a quarter to pick out something that he wanted. He decided that he wanted the little blue man. The little blue man soon became Mr. Happy and he was the favorite of both boys the whole day. I even had to hold hands with Mr. Happy while we crossed the Walmart parking lot. "Mr. Happy cares about safety!" - a quote from Kaden.

It's funny that you don't have to spend a lot of money to entertain your children. In fact it was entertaining for the adults as well.

I haven't blogged in way to long!

I haven't blogged in way to long, so I am going to try to get busy with it. I got back from a little visit to Longview on Wednesday. I enjoyed seeing Amy, and the boys kept me laughing. I'll be posting a lot about their antics!
