Well I haven't blogged much lately because I've just been enjoying summer. I had a birthday, watched Christy's kiddos, texting like crazy, and I set up a facebook where I connected with lot's of friends from church. It's going great! Looking forward to the rest of it.

Yesterday, Mesquite received torrential downpours for several hours. It rained all night and into the afternoon. With three active boys at my house for the day I was definitely singing rain rain go away. Fortunately it stopped around 12:30 p.m. and I took the boys to Mickey D's and let them play.
Wednesday night I kept Christy's boys. While watching the movie Short Circuit (A true 80's flick) I explained to Caleb that Thomas and I used to watch this movie when we were little, and that the movie had been made quite a few years ago. Caleb looked at me and said, "Wow! Really, I'm surprised it's not in black and white!" The funny thing about this incident is that he was totally innocent, and not even trying to make a joke. It doesn't help me to feel that I am still young however. Kids say the funniest things!

Today Nanny and I spent the day in Waxahachie. Amy, Tim, and the boys are staying there for the yearly AG District Council meetings, and invited us to come out for lunch. We had a blast hanging out with Amy and the boys. They are growing up so fast and furiously, that it was so nice to just hang out with them. Kaden seems to think he is quite the little man, and Karson always wants to do what big brother does. I also got to drive by and see how much SAGU has changed since I graduated. They have really built up a lot, and the community has gained so many wonderful places to shop. When I went to school there all they had was Walmart! My how things have changed. It was a wonderful day, and I am so glad that Amy invited us.

I am so overjoyed right now! I got the results from my teacher test and I passed! I am not only delighted to have passed this exam, but with my score. I am so close to being a certified teacher now. Only one class to go, and I start that in the Summer II session of classes. Thank you to all of my friends and family who supported me and prayed for me. I couldn't have done it without you!
Yesterday I spent some time with my best friend Christi and her little girl Ashlynne. Ashlynne is almost crawling. I expect her to be off to the races any day now. She just loved the dog and the cat. She would bounce up and down and scoot in their directions while chattering away in baby talk. It just seems like yesterday that I was there for her birth. Now she is growing up so fast! Kids seem to do that don't they?

Anybody need some cabinets? Well, I certainly don't, but when I came home from dinner with a friend I found these cabinets in my driveway. I called my husband in a panic wondering who in the world would have put them in my driveway? Apparently a family friend offered them to Thomas, and he accepted them without talking to me. A word of advice to those who are newlyweds or are soon to be married... don't accept free things without talking to your wife first!
Last night we went over to Christy and Mark's house for dinner. The food was so yummy. They cooked steak and shrimp for us on the grill. It was nice to spend some time with them because we haven't seen them much since the wedding. It was also the first night that Thomas had not worked overtime in a while so it was good the have my husband with me instead of at work. The boys were happy to see me, and I got a little teaching practice while helping them with their schoolwork. It was nice to have a night out, after taking my test yesterday.

Tomorrow is the big day of my teacher exam (PPR). I am excited to finally be at this point in my certification process. Please pray that I do well! I have had a lot of encouragement from my family and friends and they all have faith that I will ace my exam. Right now I am just a teensy bit nervous. I get little butterflies when I talk about it. I have a good feeling though.
Today I had to go and have my teeth cleaned. Not really any body's favorite thing to do, but now my teeth are squeaky clean! I had the same hygienist that has been cleaning my teeth for a long time. It was nice to see her again. I had to have a really deep cleaning because I hadn't been in for one in a few years. It went really well, and I don't have to go back for six months.
